Italian metal band Lacuna Coil has announced minimal details of their upcoming 8th studio album, Delirium, in a recent Facebook post on the band’s page. The post features of a picture featuring the band’s font logo, the word “Delirium 2016” underneath and the accompanying caption, “#LC2016.”
Loudwire reported that in an upcoming interview with Lacuna Coil’s vocalist Cristina Scabbia on Loudwire Nights, hosted by Toni Gonzalez, Scabbia said:
We entered the studio about a week ago, so we’re at the very beginning … We’re absolutely excited and I think everything will be completed before the end of February, I think. And the album should be out at the end of May. It’s called Delirium and there’s tons of reasons for it. It’s been a crazy couple of years for different reasons, for personal reasons and for a lot of things that we will disclose, or we will tell later…It’s heavier than the previous albums we did, which is kind of surprising because a lot of bands are going the other way around and getting softer and more accessible.
Loudwire also stated that the Lacuna Coil Facebook page has recently been posting photos and updates of the band recording in the studio over the past month. They will play a December 11th show in Parma, Italy and a February boat show in Miami for the Tons of Metal Cruise. The band’s last tour followed their 7th studio album, Broken Crown Halo; details of a Delirium tour may be expected once more information about the album is released.
