Waxahatchee has released a new video for “La Loose”. The track comes off her latest album, Ivy Tripp.
The video was directed by Naomi Yang. The video features Katie Crutchfield singing in front of an ivy-covered ferris wheel, cutting up a shirt, picking the petals off a flower and much more. It’s an intimate video best described by Yang in a statement via Pitchfork:
“La Loose” is a song of love and longing, though dark at its edges with feelings of ambivalence. I wanted the video to be a visual equivalent to the song lyric, “a charming picture of hysteria in love” — a spinning emotional kaleidoscope of desire and rejection, adoration and anger, hope and despair. For this reason I set the video in mirror-twin locations: an abandoned, haunted amusement park and a thriving farm out of a beautiful dream.
Although Waxahatchee cancelled some tour dates earlier due to health issues, she’s back on the road continuing her tour this week.
