WATCH: Sharon Jones And The Dap-Kings Release Video For “White Christmas”

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings just released their new video for “White Christmas” off of their seasonal LP, It’s a Holiday Soul Party.

The Holidays are definitely upon all of us and the spirit of joy, happiness and even soul is the air as Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have just released the video for their personal rendition of “White Christmas.” The song is off of their new Seasonal LP, It’s Holiday Soul Party, and it is sure to get any listener up and ready to dance straight past Turkey day. The video can be seen below.

The original song was written by Irving Berlin and was made famous by Bing Crosby. The original song is a sort of sad tune that tells the tale of being homesick and away from family during Christmas. The genius behind Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings’ cover is that they were able to take the original and completely rewrite the mood of the song into one that the whole family can jam out to around the tree. She does this through her signature smile and intense energy as vocalist while the band uses a “killer horn line and a ‘60s-style guitar riff” to kick up the tracks tempo, according to Flood Magazine.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
