PRhyme, also known as Royce Da 5’9″ and DJ Premier, recently released a song on Sound cloud “High and Lows.” The duo are releasing a deluxe edition of their self-titled album this December. The deluxe album includes collaborations with musicians Roots’ Black Thought, Joey Bada$$, and Logic.
“Highs and Lows” is a collaboration track with musicians DOOM and Phonte. The single was made by DJ Premier and was recently played on Beats 1. The collaboration is a breathless take on the revision of last years album. The song is fast paced and much more harder to swing around compared to the time it was released in 2014. The speed leaves everyone clattering for breath like running a marathon where you are left sweaty and tired and almost relieved from the milestone accomplished. Phonte mentions James Brown’s Polydor days and the Flintstones in one breath later on in the song. However DOOM grabs the mile and strolls along the beat almost evenly spaced with the tempo and rhythm. Even though the original collaboration for the albums release last year included: Killer Mike, Jay Electronica, Common, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, Slaughterhouse and soul singer Dwele, this time it is more fast ad exhausting to sing to, but also a nice beat when you are pulling out at the green light and heading off to your next destination.
