The Used Announce Split With Guitarist Quinn Allman

Update: According to Loudwire, Justin Shekoski has left Saosin to join The Used as their guitarist full-time.

Today the official announcement has arrived: Formative band member and original guitarist for The Used, Quinn Allman, is leaving the group for good.

The news comes after a year-long break Allman took from the band and right on the heels off the band’s 2016 tour dates being announced.

The guitarist has been with the band since their inception in 2001, but felt that now would be the appropriate time to hang in his guitar strap.

Below is a video from loudwire featuring Bert McCracken and Jeph Howard discussing Allman’s previous break from The Used.

In an emotional statement on their Facebook page, The Used sent well-wishes, words of kindness, and a semi-explanation for the guitarist’s departure:

“Nothing can ever change, or detract from the magic of the relationships that helped create the music that is The Used. For these beautiful memories, we will be forever grateful.
As a result of mutual understanding, Quinn will not be returning to the band and Justin Shekoski will be taking his place.
The journey so far has been amazing and we continue to feel very positive about what lies ahead in the future.
As always, can’t wait to see you on the road!
Love, The Used”

According to loudwire, the band has released seven full-length records and was awarded three gold records for The Used, In Love and Death and Lies for the Liars.

Stay tuned as the band embarks on its future with new guitarist, Justin Shekoski.
