Due to the recent tragic events that unfolded in Paris during a concert last Friday, Lamb of God, has decided to cancel all remaining European dates of their current tour due to safety concerns.
With the Paris attacks taking place at a music venue, it makes sense that Lamb of God as well as many other artists, have decided to pull the plug on remaining European tour dates.
In an article on loudwire.com, it was learned that Lamb of God had to cancel a show in the Netherlands due to unforeseen security issues. These issues prompted the band to cancel the rest of their tour dates.
It seems the cancellation of the Netherlands’ show was due to high tensions following the Paris attacks, compressed with threats to a soccer stadium in Germany set to host a match between Germany and the Netherlands. The tour’s promoter had this to say regarding the cancellation:
“Because of the attacks on Paris last Friday that also took place in a music venue, a lot of stress is caused for bands playing in Europe. Combined with the terrorist threat that took place in Hannover, Germany last night, the bands are feeling too big a pressure to give the performance the audience is used from them and have decided to cancel their shows tonight. As of now, it is unknown if the bands will return for a replacement show later on.”
According to the same article, co-headliners of the tour, Children of Bodom, have taken a different approach than their counterparts by deciding to still continue on with the tour.
In a statement on their official Facebook page, Children of Bodom promised their fans they will try to move forward with all of their remaining European tour dates:
“Lamb of God has chosen to leave the European tour due to security concerns in Europe. Our team has been working very hard to make all of the remaining shows happen. WE WANT TO, AND HAVE DECIDED TO, CONTINUE ON THE ROAD AND PLAY THE REST OF THE TOUR. Here is what we know so far.”
