Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Announces Plans To Have A Drum-Off With Animal From The Muppets

UPDATE: With a legendary fusion of ultimate musicianship and humor, Dave Grohl and Animal engaged in an explosive drum-off in the latest episode of ABC’s “The Muppets”, according to Pitchfork. The highly anticipated duel began with Foo Fighters frontman Grohl snarling, “I’ve been waiting years for this, Animal.” “Now we see who’s best,” the drummer of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem Intense shot back before launching into a wildly effortless solo. Unimpressed, Grohl taps a cymbal and sarcastically scoffs, “Oh, what’s that? A bell? Time for school.” Grohl unleashes his own dynamic solo, prompting a ferocious and epic battle that leaves both musicians – and their drums – wrecked and exhausted.

Rock musician Dave Grohl has had an exciting year, minus a fall at Foo Fighters show that resulted in a broken leg. After announcing a second installment of Foo Fighter’s Sonic Highways HBO series and performing in “superdupergroup” with John Paul Jones And Queen’s Roger Taylor,  it’s time for him to return as a guest on ABC’s spirited reboot of the ‘The Muppets’.

According to Stereogum, Growl will duel the Muppet Band’s percussionist Animal in a dynamic drum-off, but a musical competition isn’t the only highlight of the episode entitled Going, Going, Gonzo. Actor and film-maker Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be featured in a duet with Miss Piggy on Up Late With Miss Piggy, her fictional late-night talk show.

Grohl, first recognized as a percussionist for ’90s grunge band Nirvana, is the frontman for the rock band Foo Fighters. He appeared in the 2011 film The Muppets, playing ‘Animool’ in the spoof band The Moopets. The multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer returns to the Muppets and the drum kit in the December 1st episode of ‘The Muppets’, Going, Going, Gonzo.
