Baroness has released a new song off of their Purple album titled “Shock Me.”
Savanah, Georgia based band, Baroness has shared the second track off of their set December 18 release of Purple. “Shock me” was released via Dan Carter’s Rock Show on BBC Radio 1 and can now be seen below.
The newly released lyric video is a clear view into what the new album has in store for fans. The bigger than frame lyrics shoot out of the screen as John Baizley’s belts them our over ripping guitar riffs. The all purple video is visually stunning and an a beautiful work of art. While Baizley is known as Baroness’ lead singer he is also the brains behind the albums cover art.
Baizley had this to say, in the press release, about “Shock Me,”
Along with the rest of Purple, ‘Shock Me’ represents the net result of an arduous reformation/rehabilitation process following the release of Yellow & Green and the bus accident that nearly ended us,” Baizley said of the new song. “We were unsure three years ago whether we’d be able to be at this point again; and while it hasn’t been a particularly easy road to get back, it is truly thrilling to feel that familiar anxious excitement that comes before we release a new album and to put new music out into the world. We treasure these moments of excitement, as they have taken on a deeper level of significance in recent years.”
Baroness’ youtube page is also featuring a series of videos that document the time the band spent in the studio and the experience of making the new album. The page will also include various interviews with the members of the band.
