Legendary psychedelic pop band The Zombies have released a new music video for “Moving On,” a single from their latest album Still Got That Hunger.
The British group released the new album in October 2015 via The End Records. It’s the sixth studio album of their lengthy career, which began in the early 1960s. The Zombies were active from 1961 until 1967, then split up until the early 1990s. After another hiatus, they briefly reunited in 1997 and then again in 2004, and have been performing and recording together since.
The video for “Moving On” contains footage from the band’s time on the road as well as the sold-out show they played in New York City during their recent tour of the U.S. It’s stylized in black and white, and the song itself has a very bluesy sound, which makes sense given the origin of the song. The Zombies’ founding member and keyboardist Rod Argent said:
I actually started this song in 1977 when I wrote one couplet on hearing of Elvis’ death. For some reason it has stayed in my mind all these years, although it’s no longer about Elvis. When I was writing material for this record for some reason I couldn’t get that couplet out of my mind. And I developed the whole song lyrically and musically. What I like about this video is that it captures a typical day in our life on tour in America, and particularly where we first played, New York, which we still love so many years later.

In addition to headlining tours and recording albums, The Zombies have proven they won’t be slowing down any time soon with some festival appearances over the last few years. In 2013 they performed at SXSW Music Festival and they were included in the lineup for Austin Psych Fest 2014, along with acts like The Horrors, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Panda Bear.
