Unknown Mortal Orchestra have excited fans with the release of their animated music video for the song “Necessary Evil”, directed by Sean Solomon.
The song is from the bands most recent album, Multi-Love, and is a great, cool song with a great, cool video to match.
The video features two animated characters, one boy and one girl, trying to co-exist together in a pyschedelic world of colors, melting objects, and wonderful visuals. Pretty much like an LSD trip straight out of the sixties, only animated and incredibly adorable. The video takes you along an almost child-like story of heart then heartbreak.
The video for “Necessary Evil” goes right along with the dreamy and jammy nature of the song itself that is vaguely familar to that of bands such as Of Montreal. The track title gives perspective to love being the evil that is so necessary in life.
Solomon, described the video set to be released on Adult Swim on Saturday, November 21st, as “an abstract love story about two characters whose insecurities and paranoia eventually drive them apart.” according to Pitchfork.
