Lush Announce First US Reunion Show For New York City

Back in September, we reported on Lush allegedly and then confirmedly announcing a (now sold-out) reunion show at London’s Roundhouse. Yesterday, they announced their first reunion show in the United States – Lush will play New York City’s Terminal 5 on September 14th, 2016.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 11th at 10 am EST for American Express cardholder, while tickets go on sale to the public beginning Friday, November 13th at 12 pm EST. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster.

The press release for the event details how Lush got its start:

Formed in London in 1988 by childhood friends Emma Anderson and Miki Berenyi, Lush also included Chris Acland on drums and Phil King on bass (originally Steve Rippon who left in 1990), and were widely acknowledged as one of the pioneers of a sound that was to be christened “shoegaze.” The band signed to 4AD in 1989, and went on to release three full-length albums, an early mini-album, and a number of EP’s and singles.

The release also announced that Lush will reissue a vinyl copy of their album Ciao! worldwide in November, followed by a limited edition box set, Chorus, which will be out in the U.S. on January 22nd, 2016.

The London show at Roadhouse will be Lush’s first live performance in in almost 20 years; the show in New York City has been announced as the “first” reunion show in the U.S., so it is almost certain that future dates and locations will be announced throughout the rest of 2015 and into next year.
