The Casket Girls have announced the release of “Western World”, a new song that will appear on the bands upcoming split EP with Stardeath and White Dwarfs. The release is scheduled for Record Store Day Nov. 27.
The band is coming off the October release of their third LP, The Piano Album. The release featured lead single “True Believers”.
The new track combines a subdued, synth-based instrumental with the warm, melodic vocals of Phaedra and Elsa Greene.
Lyrically, Phaedra Greene described the song as “an anthem for end times”. Instrumentalist for the group Ryan Graveface (also of Black Moth Super Rainbow), takes inspiration from the 60s girl group, The Shangri-las, and looks to update their vocal sound with a darker edge.
The Casket Girls have done that with this new cut, and are certainly a group to watch out for in the future.
