Discharge Announce Signing To Nuclear Blast For End Of Life 2016 Album Release

British band Discharge has signed to Nuclear Blast to release an album next year, their first album release since 2008, according to Brooklyn Vegan. The band have also already released a track from the forthcoming album called “NWO.”

Discharge is a hardcore punk band that formed in 1977 in England. Original members of the band include Terence “Tezz” Roberts, Royston “Rainy” Wainwright, Gary Maloney, Anthony “Bones” Roberts and Kelvin “Cal” Morris, also known as “Cal Voice.” The current lineup of the group includes three original members – Tezz, Rainy and Bones – and Choke Hold’s Dave Caution along with Wasted Life’s JJ Janiak.

The forthcoming album, which is entitled End Of Life, does not yet have a set release date but will drop in 2016. Discharge have already shared a song from the new album, “NWO,” which is a loud track with a thrash sound that differentiates it from the band’s earlier material. Watch the offical video for the new song below.

The group was originally around for a decade, from 1977 to 1987, then joined forces again from 1991 to 1999. They finally got back together in 2001 and have stayed active since then. Though they’ve been around almost continuously since 2001, they haven’t released an album together since 2008’s Disensitise. The decision to sign with the Nuclear Blast label should prove to be a good move for Discharge, as the independent record label currently manages acts such as Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Fear Factory and Danzig.
