According to Under The Radar Mag, “Belle and Sebastian have announced on their website that they will be canceling all their November tour dates due to health issues with frontman Stuart Murdoch.”
The full statement reads:
“Belle and Sebastian regret to announce the cancellation of their upcoming tour of mainland Europe. This is due to lead singer Stuart Murdoch’s current health.
It is a huge disappointment for us not to make the concerts, and the decision was not taken easily.
Stuart wants nothing else but to be able to play and sing for you, but has to get better first.
We hope you understand.
Love and respect, as always
Belle and Sebastian”
Belle and Sebastian have spent most of 2015 on the road in support of their recent LP Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance. They finished their third North American leg of the tour in August and their South American set in October. They returned to Europe to play a few shows in the U.K. including a charity concert in Glasgow. Their next scheduled performance was on November 10. The group did not elaborate on Murdoch’s illness but we hope for a speedy recovery.
They recently released a video for “Perfect Couples” and had a few shows at FYF Fest this past summer along with a couple other festivals.
