Canadian musician, Grimes, has released a new track titled “Scream.” The track is off of her forthcoming album, Art Angels. Though this song isn’t necessarily something that you can sing along to (unless you speak Mandarin), its got a heavy “nu-metal” vibe that would work in any pump up situation. The track features Taiwanese artist Aristophanes, rapping over the bass-heavy beat.
A week prior to “Scream,” Grimes released the videos for two of her new songs titled “Flesh Without Blood/Life In The Vivid Dream.” These tracks came as a surprise to Grimes’ fans, because they weren’t her usual eclectic taste, but rather, actual pop songs. Fans were happy to hear “Scream,” as it gave them the type of music that they’ve come to expect from Grimes over the past couple of years.
Shortly after she released “Scream,” Grimes tweeteed:
Scream is my first ‘producer track’, the terrifying and beautiful Aristophanes is the lead vocalist, and grimes did the screaming.
It’s a perfect theme song for Halloween 2015, so have a listen below.
