Los Angeles indie pop band La Sera has announced their new album, Music for Listening to Music to, set for a March 2016 release date. The album will be produced by established alt-country singer songwriter Ryan Adams, who recently released a cover album of Taylor Swift’s chart topping 1989.
The album is La Sera’s fourth LP, and the successor to 2014’s Hour of the Dawn. That album was the first to feature guitarist Todd Wisenbaker (who also produced the album). He will receive credit as a full time collaborator and vocalist on the upcoming release.
According to an interview with the band in Rolling Stone, the new album will lean heavily on a variety of musical influences. During the recording process, Adams and Wisenbaker found a mutual love for The Smiths and their guitarist Johnny Marr. The new album will have traces of country and pop as well, but the band maintains it won’t sound like fans suspect.
Music for Listening to Music to will be released on March 16, 2016 on Polyvinyl.
