You know Jess Glynne’s voice from it’s prominent feature on Clean Bandit’s hit “Rather Be.” She won a Grammy for that one. She also features on Route 94’s “My Love” and Tinie Tempah’s “Not Letting Go.” But the rising star has a solo number one of her own with her track “Hold My Hand.”
Nearly 10 years ago, Glynne was approached by producers for the UK’s X Factor, but she turned down their offers stating that it just wasn’t for her. Instead, she opted to spend her time enjoying the creative process of writing her album. Of her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, Glynne says, “I wrote it about the journey I’ve been on, and I was going through a really shit time.”
Like Glynne, her opening act Conrad Sewell is a voice you may recognize sooner than you would his name. He appears on Kygo’s single, “Firestone.” He also has a solo hit of his own, “Start Again.” You can catch both of these rising talents this coming January when they head to Union Transfer. Grab your tickets for this one when they go on sale this Friday (10/30) atnoon!
