Naughty By Nature @ The TLA 2/28

Hip hop veterans, Naughty by Nature are headed out on a 25th anniversary tour that will make its way to Philly for a closing stop on February 28th. They’ll be playing the TLA stage, and tickets are currently on sale, but this is sure to be a popular event, so act fast.

The Grammy Award winning Jersey trio, of course, consists of Treach, Vin Rock, and DJ Kay Gee. They’ve been making music together since the late 80s, previously under the name New Style. After performing at various talent shows, they were discovered by fellow New Jersey native Queen Latifiah, who mentored the group, signed them to her management company, and helped them to land their deal with Tommy Boy Records. They would go on to change their name to Naughty by Nature, release their self-titled debut in 1991 with their classic “O.P.P.,” and the rest is history.

In addition to their US gigs, Naughty by Nature will also tour Australia, for the first time in 20 years. They’re also hard at work in the studio. Treach says, “We wouldn’t have reunited if we didn’t think we could give people that authentic Naughty feeling. This new album is definitely gonna take you back, but juts like we always did, we’ve invented a new sound, a bunch of new flows and after being without an album for so long, we’ve gotta lotta things to say.”
