Kid Koala Says He Has Finished A New Album With Emiliana Torrini

Kid Koala will be releasing a new album with Iceland’s Emiliana Torrini in Motreal’s winter season.

There is little talk of what the album will consist of, but fans can anticipate a few things. Iceland goddess, Torrini, will bring her soft, melodic vocals to combine effortlessly with Koala’s matching electronic sounds. Last year, October 23, 2014 via Torrini’s Facebook page, the duo released a song “Nightfall (Pale Blue)” which is a track from the soundtrack of Jason Reitman’s new movie, “Men, Women, and Children”.

It is expected that the upcoming album release will be performed in Montreal at an event called ‘Music To Draw To…’. ‘Music To Draw To…’ is a quiet time event that Kid Koala and co. started in January of 2009 to warm up the Monday night Montreal winter blues. People who attend receive a free hot chocolate and a pencil with admission. Kid Koala plays five hours of quiet time work music while audience members work. Many people bring sketchbooks, some people knit, some sculpt, video game developers code, animators bring Wacom tablets and screenwriters and playwrights type. The only rule: there is no dancing or disturbing others while they work. Since then Kid Koala and co. have held ‘Music to Draw to…’ events in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and London, UK.
