Merchandise and Dum Dum Girls have collaborated on a single together titled “Red Sun.”
Sup Pop recording artist Dum Dum Girls have teamed up with the Tampa, Fl based band Merchandise to record a new single, “Red Sun.” The song was written after midnight and is known as the story of love, power, and weakness. Red Sun can best be described as a synthesized induced dream that is guided by Dee Dee, Dum Dum Girls singer. “She sings through a narrative about the mystery of human attraction and its hold on the psyche. She plays a half siren and half desert wanderer that is both a temptress of man and the God of War. She possesses the body of a girl who can make all men her victim. There is a clear high level of emotion within the track that is heard through Dee Dee’s voice plays as sort of a sailor’s siren leading who ever listens into the danger that the song insists accompanied by the devious synth line and guitar playing of the track. Carson Cox of Merchandise contributes the chorus of the song. Song can be found below.
Red Sun is now available for preorder through Sub Pop Mega Mart, Itunes and Amazon. If you preorder through megamart.subpop.com you will receive a limited edition version of the 7th pressed on clear purple vinyl (while supplies last).
