Dave Rawlings Machine released their first music video for ‘The Weekend’, transporting viewers on a breakneck raod trip from Nashville to California. Outfitted in Nudie Suits and guitars, the coast bound musicians trace horizons of skyscrapers and rural woodlands as the heartwarming trip unfolds.
“It was the craziest idea,” says Rawlings,”to document a weekend trip from Music City to the beach and back”. From the opening scene – in which Rawlngs and Welch pack the ’65 Chevy Impala they first toured in – to the last, the video resonates with atmospheric emotion and nostalgia, “evidence that Dave Rawlings Machine will go wherever the road leads them”.
The bluegrass supergroup, featuring guitarist and singer Dave Rawlings, recently released their second album, Nashville Obsolete, in September after the announcement of their fall tour across North America.
