Husker Du Launch New Website

1980’s rock band, Husker Du, has launched a new website that has apparently been “thirty years in the making,” according to the band’s bassist, Greg Norton. The band, made up of guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould, drummer/vocalist Grant Hart and previously mentioned bassist, Greg Norton, went through a rough breakup in the late 80’s. As a trio, they put out six albums and toured for almost eight years before it all came to a screeching halt which led to a fall out. That being said, the new merchandise website is a big deal for fans of the band who are hoping for a reunion someday. In an interview with Startribune, Norton was quoted saying “the main thing is, there’s ongoing communication between the three of us now.” According to an article on Pitchfork, before the website launch, Husker Du had little to do with one another over the last decade.

Following the bands disbursement, Bob Mould and Grant Hart each went on to pursue solo careers. Bob Mould has put out eight albums since 1989, the latest being “Beauty & Ruin.” Grant Hart also came out with eight albums over the last 25 years. Both infused some of Husker Du’s original pop-punk vibes into their solo tracks.

Husker Du is said to be launching an official Facebook page in the near future, which means we should be seeing more communication from the band over the next year or so. According to the Pitchfork article, Norton was keeping quiet on the idea of an archival release, but it doesn’t seem as though anything has been ruled out at this point.

Fans can access Husker Du’s official merchandise site here.
