Foals have released a new video for “Give It All” off their latest album, What Went Down. The video was shot in Paris and directed by Nabil.
Posted on Pitchfork, singer Yannis Philippakis spoke about the song saying, “That was one where it felt like stripping all the support and architecture of the band away and allowing it to be just a vocal and some chords. That song more than anything we’ve ever done has been lead by its vocal. It felt like the purest bit of songwriting we’d ever done.”
The video is very melancholy featuring a man that is haunted by the memories of his lover. Nabil has worked with the band countless times before on other videos. This video seems to have a more basic storyline compared to the other videos he has done. Nabil has also posted his own directors cut video that has a more intense ending. It’s only a few second longer but it’s really worth your time. The official video is posted above and the directors cut is down below.
