Amphetamine Reptile Records Documentary The Color Of Noise Announced For November 2015 Release

Raucous documentary: The Color of Noise, detailing the larger-than-life punk artist Haze XXL(a.k.a. Tom Hazelmyer) and his legendary label, Amphetamine Reptile Records is set to hit stores everywhere this November 24th.

Courtesy of MVD Entertainment Group and it’s alliance with Robel Films, The Color of Noise originally met its premiere May 30th, 2014 at Jack White’s infamous Third Man Records.  Now slated to be released on Blu-Ray/DVD, the colorful documentary chronicles the white-knuckled ferocity and determination of Tom Hazelmyer and his record label’s contribution to the fledgling underground punk-rock scene of the 80’s and 90’s.

Daring to go where no man would venture with sane-propulsion, Hazelmyer launched the careers of outrageous performers: the Melvins, Helmet, Superchunk, Tad, Tar, and numerous other bands during a time quintessentially recognized for it’s “safe” punk-rock avast the mainstream air-waves, also remembered as: Grunge.

Bolstering a menacing assault with its cult-like status, Hazelmyer’s Amphetamine Reptile Records set-up shop with not-only a divergent set of hellions bent on delivering punk and metal through greased-stained goggles, but also promoted the noise itself courtesy of the most ambitious poster-artists who knew no bounds.

Featuring the true American-underground subculture, the documentary cleverly casts a shadow of live-show footage, stirring images, and over 50 interviews that span the globe all masterfully edited into what is now considered one of the most important films to ever sequester the Noise-Rock era.

Along with The Color of Noise, MVD and AmRep plan to re-issue an onslaught of their greatest releases on vinyl.  The releases include: Hazelmyer’s band’s classic, Halo of Flies: Music for Insect Minds exclusively on double LP, the Cows’ magnum-opus: Cunning Stunts, and down and dirty 3-piece LP compilation-set: Dope Guns ‘n Fucking in the Streets.
