Indie rock band Foals have been forced to cancel their upcoming South American shows due to their singer’s health, according to NME.
Frontman Yannis Philippakis has been struggling with his vocal health, and doctors have now ordered him to rest his voice in order to prevent any permanent damages. The singer will be unable to perform for three weeks.
The band, who were touring to support their new album What Went Down, were scheduled to perform shows in Peru, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico – all of which were cancelled.
This week’s cancelled dates have been rescheduled for July 2016, with Mexico’s rescheduled dates yet to be announced.
Philippakis will be ready and able to continue on with the band’s arena tour in the UK this coming February. Foals are scheduled to perform in Glasgow, Manchester, London, Birminghan, and Leeds.
