Grimes Announces Winter 2016 Tour Dates

Grimes announced a European addition to her tour schedule called “Acid Reign” that will run through winter.

Grimes has announced a European tour that will take place after her “Rhinestone Cowgirls” tour she announced last month. The tour will be titled “Acide Reign’ and will be in support of her forthcoming new album. Joining her on her Winter tour will be HANA, according to Pitchfork.

Grimes is the stage name that was adopted by Claire Elise Boucher, a Vancouver native. Heavily influenced and inspired by “Grime music,” Boucher decided to take on the musical genre as her stage name. Grime music was formed in the United Kingdom in the early 2000’s and can be summarized as a form of “gritty rap and hip-hop.” However, Boucher derives from many musical influences in genres such as electronica, pop, R&B and dance music as well as rap and hip-hop.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
