Run the Jewels has released their single as part of this years Adult Swim Single releases.
Adult Swim’s 2015 singles releases have been on fire this year. This is now week 18 of the 19 week program and Run the Jewels has released their contribution. Their new single is called “Dynamite.” This single follows the release of El-P and Killer Mike’s now week-old remix LP Meow the Jewels. “Dynamite” will also be featured on their forthcoming film Rubble Kings as part of the soundtrack, which is set to release digitally and standard on October 30 via Mass Appeal Records.
“Dynamite” is a hard hitting and explosive song that was obviously made in order to match the subject of the documentary. From first listen they will have any hip-hop fan hooked and hitting the repeat button. The single can be sampled below.
The Rubble Kings documentary is set in a gang ruled 1960’s and 70’s New York City. It will tell the story of how a few “extraordinary, forgotten people did the impossible and how their actions impacted the city and the world at large by planting the seeds to what would become hip-hop culture,” according to the press release. The soundtrack is being produced by long-time collaborator, Little Shalimar and features appearances by Bun B, Mr Muthaf*kin Exquire, Ka and Roxyiny. The trailer for the film can be seen below.
There is only one more week remaining in the Adult Swim Singles program and it is set to be a big one. With bonus songs from Shantih Shantih, Dasher, Low Estate and Scanning Antartica. This multi-song week is a big finally for what was an even bigger year for the Adult Swim Singles Program. Other releases included singles from artists like Doomstarks, Myrkur, Captain Murphy, Gauntlet Hair and more.
