Minneapolis, Minn.-based, Indie hip-hop collective Doomtree have released a video for their song, “Heavy Rescue,” which is taken from the group’s most recent album, All Hands.
The video for “Heavy Rescue” was directed by Doomtree member P.O.S., who’s given name is Stef Alexander, along with the collective’s longtime collaborator Isaac Gale shooting and editing the music video.
“Heavy Rescue” appears to depict a rural environment with shots of green vegetation and a flowing river. But, there is a sense of an impending accident as various people are shown to be on an actively used railroad bridge that spans the aforementioned river, during a dark and rainy evening. Additionally, as a cautionary note to viewers, there is a depiction of what appears to be a girl’s suicide attempt by drowning. But, the girl in question is pulled out of the water and given medical attention, which saves her life.
Moving away from visual content, the song starts off with Cecil Otter spinning this tale in verse, and goes on to feature his fellow Doomtree members Sims and Dessa, along with the video’s director, P.O.S., as well.
Initially, the video for “Heavy Rescue” was unveiled as bonus content in Pop Quiz, Hot Shot, which is Doomtree’s recently released online trivia game. Those who took part in the game were given a sneak peak at this video before its public debut, according to a press release.
