New Kurt Cobain Solo Recordings “Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings” Announced for November 2015 Release

Previously unreleased recordings from Kurt Cobain will be released on Nov. 13, according to Consequence of Sound.

The recordings, called Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, were originally set to release a week earlier.

The recordings are aptly named after the documentary on which they were found, Montage of Heck. The documentary, directed by Brett Morgen, was released back in April.

Morgen said he discovered “hours upon hours of never-before-heard Cobain music” while working on the documentary. The tracks are unfinished and feature a raw Cobain at work.

The release will be available on CD, cassette, and digitally, according to Consequence of Sound. COS also reported the standard edition will feature 13 tracks, while the deluxe edition will feature 31.

Cobain fans should also look out for the upcoming December release of his cover of “And I Love Her,” by The Beatles.

Twenty-one years after Cobain’s suicide, it’s amazing that fans have fresh, unheard material from the Nirvana singer.

“I could not possibly understand how this existed and nobody had encountered it before,” said Morgen.
