LISTEN: Sia Releases New Song “Alive” That She Wrote With Adele And Tobias Jesso Jr.

Sia may not be swinging from chandelier, but she is certainly swinging in this new song she wrote alongside Adele and Tobias Jesso Junior. “Alive” is the single from Sia’s new album, This Is Acting. The album is about writing songs for other artists and this song is not too far from the topic.

The single is in part of a collaboration with other artists because it is literally meant for those artists. Sia has already written song for Beyoncé and Rihanna. She is also writing a song for Adele’s new album coming out soon. Sia has already partnered with FKA Twigs and will work on other collaborations with other musicians before the albums suspected release date. “I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go into it thinking, ‘This is something I would say,’” Sia said in an interview with NME, “It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun.”

The new album hasn’t been given a release date as of yet, but Sia is writing for a new film project titled Sister, that features Maddie Ziegler. The two have previously collaborated for the videos accompanying Sia’s singles “Chandelier,” “Big Girls Cry” and “Elastic Heart.”
