Ryan Adams’s much-discussed cover album of Taylor Swift’s 1989 finally has its release date, after weeks of conjecture and clips from the record.
It was just announced that you can now pre-order the album on iTunes and receive his latest cover, “Bad Blood,” as an instant gratification track. The album will be available digitally on September 21. For this EP, Adams covers Swift’s full standard album in the style of The Smiths, an interesting take on 2014’s biggest album. Tracks from the deluxe version of the album will not be on Adams’s cover record. In addition to “Bad Blood,” he’s also given the fans a preview of his take on “All You Had to Do Was Stay” and “Out of the Woods.”
Of all the fans excited for this release, Taylor Swift might just be the most excited. She’s been tweeting about the project since Adams first announced it, and most recently tweeted a countdown for the album’s release.
Ryan's music helped shape my songwriting. This is surreal and dreamlike.
