British rock band Ride have announced that there will be a special North American release of Nowhere25, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of their 1990 album Nowhere.
Nowhere25 will contain both a CD and DVD, with the CD containing the expanded 15-track album and the DVD holding a previously unseen recording of their live performance at Town & Country Club in London in 1991. Those who order the package will receive it in a hardback cardboard case with a canvas-style cover. It will also include a booklet with 36 pages of never-before-seen photos and new sleeve notes by the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Andy Bell. There will also be a double vinyl version of the Nowhere25 album available. Both the CD and DVD package and the vinyl LP will be available on November 6 and can currently be pre-ordered online.
Ride was formed in Oxford, England, in 1988. The original members include Andy Bell, Mark Gardner, Laurence Colbert and Steve Queralt. They released a total of four studio albums in the early and mid-1990s, then broke up in 1996 due to creative differences. Following the split, Bell went on to become the bassist for alternative rock band Oasis and the other members also moved onto different musical projects.
The group reunited briefly in 2001 and reunited for 2015’s Primavera Sound Festival as well. Following that performance, they decided to make appearances at Illinois’s Pygmalion Festival and Ohio’s MidPoint Music Festival. Both of these festivals fall within Ride’s full list of tour dates, which span from September 23 until November 19 and cover a number of locations in the United States and Canada.
