Following their dystopian narrative-trend, British electronica-duo, Disclosure release their third installment: “Jaded” in a four-part series of science fiction videos. Set to hit storewide-shelves Friday, September 25, Caracal marks the band’s much-anticipated record of creative-genius.
Infamously-renowned for their masterful ability to seamlessly blend electronic-soundscapes with collaborative vocal supports from such artists as: Sam Smith applying his soulful-crooning on “Omen,” Lion Babe delivering searing-prowess on “Hourglass,” and Gregory Porter bellowing in trance during “Holding On,” there’s no end to Disclosure’s initiative.
Directed by innovative-filmmaker, Ryan Hope, “Jaded” depicts the not-so-distant-future rebel heroine, Mariella being uncontrollably manipulated into hypnosis while a few old white-men solemnly observe in awe. Featuring a brief cameo by Sam Smith, the video jumps through jittery flash-frames to convey here-and-there appearances of the brothers Lawrence.
Scaling-back the consistent use of guests-singers this time around, Disclosure’s own, Howard Lawrence takes the vocal-reigns to accompany the breezy house-pop orchestration that renders the group sublime.
