Grimes just announced her upcoming tour titled “Rhinestone Cowgirls.”
The tour will take place in October and November and will include shows on both coasts, according to Under The Radar.
Grimes is the stage name that was adopted by Claire Elise Boucher, a Vancouver native. Heavily influenced and inspired by “Grime music,” Boucher decided to take on the musical genre as her stage name. Grime music was formed in the United Kingdom in the early 2000’s and can be summarized as a form of “gritty rap and hip-hop.” However, Boucher derives from many musical influences in genres such as electronica, pop, R&B and dance music as well as rap and hip-hop.
This will be the first time that Grimes has headlined a show since 2012 and will do so with the help of Nicole Dollanganger.
