In 2007 Andre Allen Anjos with Aaron Jasinski and Chris Angelovski created the Remix Artist Collective known as RAC. These days, however, RAC is the solo project of Anjos. “Sleeping Lessons” by The Shins was RAC’s first remix. This is the remix that peeked interest from other indie bands. They have culminated remixes for Bloc Party, Ra Ra Riot, Foster the People, Lana Del Ray, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, Death Cab and many more.
RAC released their first original song “Hollywood” featuring Penguin Prison’s Chris Glover via Green Label Sound on May 3, 2012. “Hollywood” was the promotional single for the debut RAC original album. RAC released their second original song “Let Go” featuring Bloc Party’s Kele and MNDR on August 20, 2013.
After signing to Cherrytree Records, in October 2013 RAC released the Don’t Talk To EP, which included “Hollywood” and “Let Go”. Featuring collaborations with Tokyo Police Club and Tegan and Sara, RAC’s debut album, Strangers, was initially released as two EPs early in 2014; it arrived as a full-length that April.
As one who has seen Anjos live many times, RAC is definitely something worth checking out!
