American singer songwriter Kurt Vile, former member of The War On Drugs has released a new music video for his song “Life Like This”.
“Life Like This” is a track from Kurt Vile’s new album he announced back in July. It’s called b’lieve i’m goin down… and is set for release on September 25th.
In a statement to Pitchfork, the director of Vile’s video Adam Avilla described it as the following:
a story about getting at the heart of inspiration and the surreal disjointed journey that the pursuit entails.
This video for “Life Like This” certainly is a journey, going from realistic to psychedelic animation gradually through the film. It totally emphasizes those psychedelic dreamy vibes Kurt Vile uses in a ton of his music. Influences like Pavement, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and John Fahey make some really unique sounds and combinations in his work.
“Life Like This” is a stellar track and the video is pretty trippy, but they work so well together you’d wonder how any other kind of video would have fit this song so perfectly.
Kurt Vile is making his way through many live performances, whether it’s Pitchfork’s Music Festival this past July or his global tour starting this October. He’s definitely keeping everything for his audience interesting with new material and live shows to prove that he’s a long lasting classic musician fans will love for ages.
“Life Like This” is a great dreamy rock track that you’ll love, with a video you’ll love even more. It’s worth checking out for sure here through Youtube.
