Alternative metal band Deftones will be performing at the Fox Theatre Pomona on October 28. The band’s upcoming album was originally slated to release on September 25 but has since been pushed back to late November. The band consists of Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, Chino Moreno, Frank Delgado and Sergio Vega.
The Deftones were founded in 1988 and become well known by creating a sound that combined alternative heavy riffs and screamed vocals with more ethereal music and hushed singing. The resulting sound defied any and all categories and ignited international acclaim that has since proved their long-lasting appeal. The band has sold more than 3 million tickets and 4 million albums in the process.
“This one was different,” Delgado said comparing the new Deftones album with their previous releases. “This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would’ve been scared of before.”
Deftones are making new music and will sure to be playing old classics, so be sure to catch them at the Fox Theatre Pomona next month!
