The English alt rock group Pop Will Eat Itself will return to America this fall for the first time since the 90s, announcing six rare tour dates along the East Coast, Illinois and Ohio for September.
Pop Will Eat itself has had a pretty extensive history: they originally formed in 1986, released three albums with RCA, announced their disbandment in 1996 and got back together almost 10 years later to release new material. Members have been consistently switched around and rotated over the years, and as of 2011, the lineup includes vocalist Mary Byker, guitarist Tim Muddiman, drummer Jason Bowld, bassist Davey Bennett and frontman Graham Crabb, the only original member.
The band’s recent projects include the 2014 EP release, Watch The Bitch Blow, followed by a FIFA protest song titled “Reclaim the Game (Funk FIFA).” Anti Nasty League was planned for release later that same year but was delayed until the group started touring toward the beginning of 2015. It was then released exclusively through the band’s shop in April.
Graham Crabb is also a part of industrial rock supergroup Primitive Race, which released a ten-track EP collaboration with PIG, Long in the Tooth, in June and its first full-length album, Primitive Race, in August of this year.
