After being out of the game for almost a decade, Brit-pop originators, Suede, released their album Bloodsports in 2013. If their last album compares to their upcoming studio album, Night Thoughts, which is set to be released January 22, 2016, then the music is well worth the wait.
The album will also be accompanied by a film directed by Roger Sargent. They have released a teaser for the album and a trailer for the film which can be found on Under The Radar.
The album and film are set to be premiered at two shows at London’s Roundhouse on November 13 and 14 where the film will be projected behind them while they perform the album in full. Night Thoughts was produced by Ed Buller who has produced all of their albums except Head Music and New Morning. The album was recorded in London and Brussels and features a full string section.
Sargent spoke about the film in a press release saying, “The record deals with a lot of familial themes — life, death, love, anguish and despair; themes that are expanded upon in its visual companion, providing a study of how those elements affect the human psyche. It resonated with me for many reasons, not least because my mother passed away a few days after I started writing a story for the film. The film starts with a man drowning in the waters of a deserted beach at night, as he fights for life, his mind plays out the events that lead him to be there.”
