Indie rock band has released a new song called “Lie Lie Lie” from the forthcoming album Pagans In Vegas.

The band’s latest album will be available September 18 via MMI. They have already released two music videos for tracks from the album, one for “Cascades” and one for “Too Bad, So Sad.” Metric also previously released song called “The Shade” that will appear on Pagans In Vegas.

The latest song release, “Lie Lie Lie,” is full of attitude. Rhythmic guitar strumming and clapping drives the music, with lead vocalist Emily Haines using her voice in a cutting tone. It’s a catchy and upbeat tune, a perfect song for transitioning summer pop music into more chill fall vibes. Lyrics like “Reach against the dying of the light” and “I suppose I’ve brought it all upon myself” are part of what gives the track its darker sound. Listen to “Lie Lie Lie” below.

Metric was formed in Toronto in 1998, with Haines on lead vocals, synthesizer, guitar, tambourine, piano and harmonica. James Shaw plays guitar, synth, theremin and does backing vocals; Joshua Winstead also plays synth and does backing vocals while also taking bass duty; Joules Scott-Key covers drums and other percussion. The multi-talented members have won multiple Juno awards and CASBY awards for several of their albums as a band. Pagans in Vegas is Metric’s sixth studio album, following 2012’s Synthetica, while their debut album came out in 2003.

The group toured with Imagine Dragons in February, April and May 2015, performing in both North and South America. On Labor Day, Metric will be playing at Budweiser’s Made In America in Philadelphia, along with acts like The Weeknd, Death Cab for Cutie, Beyonce, Bassnectar and Modest Mouse.
