Atlanta rockers, Deerhunter, are kicking off an extensive US tour this winter, to follow a tour of Europe throughout November. They’ll make their way to Philly on December 6th with a headlining show at Union Transfer that will feature openers Atlas Sound.
The group is out supporting their newest album, Fading Frontier, which is set to be released worldwide on October 16th. The album marks the band’s 7th studio release. It was written in their hometown, with production shared between the band and Ben H. Allen III, whom they’ve worked with since their 2010 release Halcyon Digest.
To make things even more interesting, the band has booked Atlas Sound, the solo project of frontman Bradford Cox. So, not only will the lead singer be performing the headlining slot on December 6th, but he’ll also be opening for himself. Cox said he started Atlas Sound because he has “ideas that [he] can’t make work with a five piece rock band.” Be sure to get there early to see just how different the two sounds really are. You can grab your tickets for Deerhunter and Atlas Sound at Union Transfer now!
