Slayer announced that their song, “You Against You,” is available as a free download for their first 15,000 fans.
This song is taken from Slayer’s upcoming new eleventh studio album, Repentless, which is due out on September 11, 2015, via Nuclear Blast.
In addition to being made available as digital download, “You Against You” will be released in a limited run of 7” vinyl records of the single will be available in January, according to a press release.
“You Against You” pairs the iconic thrash-metal band with Scion. If you are thinking of the Scion that is the test laboratory division for Toyota in the United States, you’re absolutely correct. Previously, the metal band and the car company teamed up to roll out the now legendary Slayer-inspired tC sports coupe. But, the Scion that is normally associated with vehicles, has branched out into the music and arts fields with a creative venture named, Scion Audio Visual.
Scion Audio Visual (hereafter Scion AV) is “a creative enterprise of Scion devoted to the discovery, nurture, funding and distribution of compelling music and arts programming,” according to a press release. To date, the company has taken the initiative to create and support hundreds of underground musical artists, tours and special events, created documentary films, curated art installations, and have produced their own original content, which takes the form of the Scion AV All Purpose Show.
As a part of this creative partnership, Slayer’s new song premieres on ScionAV.com. But, the site’s page that will allow listeners to download the song, or listen to “You Against You” as an ongoing streaming track, does not go live until 10a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, September 4th, 2015.
In light of that, look for this story to be updated with more information, when “You Against You” is available to download or stream in several hours.
