Destroyer’s new video for their track “Times Square” is artistic and clever, and it really sets a great atmosphere for a chill track by Destroyer.
The video flips between stop motion – a film technique that involves taking numerous shots with one small detail changed about them each time, and lead singer Dan Bejar. It oozes fun and cleverness with the cute stop motion characters and a shot of the actual Times Square in New York City. “Times Square” is a mellow track that makes you want to wander aimlessly through New York City, which according to Under The Radar is exactly what Destroyer did.
You’ll love the great jazz instrumentals and clever melodies from the Vancouver indie rock band. They sure do know how to set the West Coast vibe well, having you fall in love about any place they write a song about! Destroyer is playing at The Mohawk in Austin on September 23rd, and you can check out ticket information here.
The saxophone is a clear focus in Destroyer’s songs, which is a really unique turn for an indie band to take. It’s unique and clever and we love the talent incorporated with the instrument in these mellow songs. In Destroyer’s track from May, “Dream Lover”, the instrument was incorporated into a great new age pop song that was adored by many. We can just hope new material and whatever projects Destroyer takes on next sticks true to their classic sound so many fans know so well.
