Destroyer is a Canadian rock band fronted by singer/songwriter Dan Bejar. Starting from the mid 1990s, the band takes pride in producing albums that are distinctly different from one another. “That’s kind of my goal: to start from scratch every time,” says Bejar about each record. Songs are described as being abstract with poetic lyrics, supported by strong vocals.
Beginning as a solo act, Destroyer now strives for collaborative work from a variety of artists. With an outstanding number of ten albums and four EPs, Destroyer will release another record later in 2015. Titled Poison Seasons, the album is said to be more matured from their previous work in the past two decades.
Bejar takes his music to another culture by singing in Spanish as well. The EP, Five Spanish Songs, reflects some of Destroyer’s greatest talents as musicians. Destroyer will begin touring in late September, just after the release of their newest record.
