Corrections House: Scott Kelly from Neurosis, Bruce Lamont from Yakuza, Sanford Parker from Minsk, and Mike Williams from Eyehategod, will release their new album in October, Know How To Carry A Whip. Seward Fairbury will also assist with some songs on the new album.
The concept of the new album was based on the theme of confinement, madness, and absolution to complete insanity. Seward Fairbury was interviewed on the production and the way the album was to be addressed by fans of the group from his ward in a mental institution. “These new songs are far more developed and fluid then the first record. There is a prevailing groove that dominates,” Seward Fairbury said.
Their new album is their second album following the success of their debut album, Last City Zero, released in 2013. The album includes nine tracks and forty-five minutes of audio apocalypse created by Sanford Parker and Seward Fairbury. Some of the songs from the new album will have different themes: longing and loneliness, danger, paranoia and defeat of an ongoing battle to overcome mental problems. But the overall theme will be release from the mental state that could bring more hazard to the health of the overall human being, because who doesn’t want to feel freedom after battling metal restraints for so long? “The music is simultaneously suffocating and freeing, but it also has the energy of a whirling dervish,” said Scott Kelly of Corrections House.
