Metal fans will get a taste of horror this fall.
The third installment of Philip Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Festival is already going strong, despite the tragic and sudden death of the festival’s co-founder this past October.
The newest lineup for the festival includes bands such as Eyehategod and Yob. Only nine bands have been announced so far, but the 2015 shows are already one of the most anticipated metal events of the year. Stay tuned here as more bands are announced at this year’s festival in the coming weeks.
Metal music and horror films go together like peanut butter and jelly, and Anselmo’s festival delivers on both (the music and movies, that is). The festivities begin on November 13 until November 15 in San Antonio at the Aztec Theater.
This year’s festival is especially notable for Anselmo, following the death of his friend and co-founder Corey Mitchell last year.
“I’ve got a great team in place to help make this what Corey and I wanted it to be. There are a lot of mixed emotions here because no one can replace him. But, we know he would want this to continue and so that’s what we’re going to do. We miss him and think about him every day.”
On the film side, the festival is already seeking submissions from directors, with a special focus on independent filmmakers.
According to Anselmo:
“When Corey and I started this thing, it was important to us that we help independent filmmakers get their incredible work discovered. Nothing has changed, in that respect.”
