Was there any surprise that the MacBook-wielding musicians of today are making the big bucks? Well, if you had any speculations, then Forbes have come to clear that up- with a list of this year’s top ten highest paid DJ’s in the EDM world.
Calvin Harris tops the list at a whopping $66 million dollars, beating David Guetta, who takes second place at $37 million, and both Deadmau5 and Diplo at number ten with $15 million.
‘Our estimates for the Electronic Cash Kings list include earnings from live shows, merchandise sales, endorsements, recorded music sales and external business ventures,’ said Forbes in a 2014 statement. This is the third year that Harris has been ranked as number one.
Harris has done a lot this year to rank it up that high. Recently, he’s released a song with electronic trio Disciples, collaborated with Haim and booked slots on major festival lineups such as Corona Capital and Electric Daisy Carnival, also joined by his affluent contemporaries, in support of his 2014 album Motion.
