Crooner Lana Del Rey has released yet another song, titled “Terrence Loves You,” from her upcoming album Honeymoon. The five-minute track is the third single she has released from the LP.
Del Rey previously released the title track from her forthcoming album, which is similarly haunting ballad, as well as “High By The Beach,” a song that its own sound with an accessible backing beat during the chorus. The latest song from her is a melancholy track featuring her vocals over a simple piano tune, later incorporating strings and saxophone in the instrumental backing. Though the song features lyrics like “I lost myself when I lost you” and “You are what you are,” it also features some familiar lyrics: “Ground control to Major Tom,” from David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” Listen to “Terrence Loves You” below.
The indie pop singer played the 2015 Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington state in May, along with artists like Kendrick Lamar and Modest Mouse. Not content to just be working on her own album and performing live, Del Rey also released track entitled “Life Is Beautiful” in the trailer for the Blake Lively film Age of Adaline and was featured on R&B singer The Weeknd’s album Beauty Behind the Madness, on a track called “Prisoner.”
Along with the release of “Terrence Loves You” comes the album cover art for Honeymoon, which drops on September 18 and will have 13 tracks. The art features Del Rey in Star Line Tours vehicle, which features the phone number 1-800-268-7886. According to Rolling Stone, the number is inactive but there is a chance that it will eventually connect callers to a “Honeymoon Hotline.” The fourth album from Del Rey follows last year’s Ultraviolence and the singer told Billboard that “it’s very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise.”
