Singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata has announced a full-length U.S. tour beginning in the fall.
Last year, Yamagata toured a similar tour route of the U.S and still had some time to collaborate with avant-garde jazz veteran John Medeski on a cover of Robert Altman’s song “Let’s Begin Again.”
Yamagata had her start as a member of the Chicago band Bumpus for six years until going solo. She has released three albums, the last being Chesapeake in 2011. Her forthcoming album has been described as, “Tom Waits meets Roberta Flack, Nick Cave hanging with Rufus Wainwright” and “Showcases her calling-card ability to articulate humanity’s struggles within relationships and the freedom that comes from celebrating that which we face alone and head on.” The album is set to be released early next year.
