One of the most talked about new MCs, Young Thug, will make his way to Philadelphia for his upcoming Hy!£UN35 Tour. The tour, named after his upcoming debut album, will kick off on September 18th with a stop in New York, before Thugger makes his way to Philadelphia at the end of October. He’ll take the stage at South Street’s TLA on October 27th. This is Young Thug’s first-ever US headlining tour, so you’ll definitely want to grab your tickets early for this one before they sell out! Support for the upcoming tour will be provided by Toronto rapper Tory Lanez.
Young Thug’s album, Hy!£UN35, which translates to HiTunes is scheduled for release in late September. His Barter 6 went to number 1 on iTunes, and Thugger’s debut album is likely to be met with just as much success. The Atlanta rapper has been on music critics’s radar since 2013, when he appeared on several best of lists, including those of Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Complex. In July of 2013, he was listed as one of Complex’s 25 New Rappers to Watch Out For.
In October of that year, Thugger released his hit single, “Stoner.” But it wasn’t until 2014, that he began gaining mainstream attention, due in large part to singles like “About the Money,” and “Lifestyle,” which peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart. His distinctive, and sometimes incomprehensible flow on “Lifestyle” as well as the rapper’s eccentric style help to set him apart. Head to the TLA this fall to see for yourself what has everyone talking.
